Our volunteers collect, sort, box and deliver books; connect with community partners to assess needs; serve on the board; and help plan awesome events.

Volunteer Positions

Book Attendants

  • Process book donation intake
  • Fill book request orders for partner organizations
  • Curate our Little Free Book Room
  • Assist with general Service Station upkeep tasks
  • Able to lift and move boxes of books, 20-40lbs

Station Managers

  • Keyholder responsible for opening and closing the station
  • Greet and assist visitors and donors during open hours
  • Coordinate daily donation and fulfillment operations
  • Assist book attendants and delivery runners as needed
  • Previous book attendant experience required

Volunteer Coordinators

  • Approve, process, and train new volunteers
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer shifts
  • Maintain volunteer records and communications
  • Organize volunteer events and activities
  • Recruit new volunteers as needed
  • Serve as lead to ensure a positive volunteer experience

Delivery Runners

  • Retrieve boxes of book donations from the Service Station
  • Deliver to partner organizations
  • Able to lift and move boxes of books, 20-40 lbs
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Advisory Council

  • Contribute your skills, expertise, and ideas to the organization
  • Assist with problem-solving and needs assessment of the organization
  • Attend quarterly meetings
  • Review committee and strategic planning initiatives

Board of Directors

  • Provide leadership and planning
  • Represent BookGive in the community
  • Advocate for the BookGive mission
  • Monthly meetings with other Directors
  • Must chair one committee
  • One volunteer shift per month required

Community Outreach

  • Coordinate and manage communications with existing fulfillment partners
  • Recruit new fulfillment partnerships
  • Coordinate with other community businesses and organizations
  • Advocate for BookGive mission throughout the community

Donor Outreach

  • Communicate and engage with current financial donors
  • Work with fundraising team to improve donor experience
  • Coordinate donor appreciation activities and events
  • Recruit new financial donors and Page Turners

Fundraising

  • Research and write grants
  • Coordinate with Events Committee to turn events into fundraising opportunities
  • Work with Marketing Committee on fundraising campaigns
  • Secure corporate sponsorships and in-kind donations from community partners

Bookmobile

  • Plan and schedule events for our electric bookmobile, Electra
  • Drive Electra to events and delivery pick-up, when needed
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Keep Electra clean and beautiful

Marketing

  • Coordinate with Fundraising Committee to create campaigns
  • Create marketing materials for social media and community distribution
  • Contribute content to social media
  • Contribute content to BookGive newsletter & website
  • Coordinate monthly blog posts

Event Team

  • Coordinate recurring annual events
  • Support the planning and execution of superb special events
  • Work with Bookmobile Committee on off-site community events
